Medicine

Department of Medicine is the largest department of the hospital in terms of workload and volume catered, as it deals with more than 35% of the OPD and more than 50% of all indoor patients getting treatment in the hospital. It has all the major sub-specialties like cardiology, nephrology, gastroenterology and pulmonology etc.

Total number of beds in hospital: 430 

Total number of beds in department: 155 

(In addition most of the time medical patients are admitted on the vacant bed of other departments) 

There are four parallel Medical OPDs daily in the morning from 9 AM to 1 PM.

We have 10+1 bed ICU, which is fully functional and well equipped with 9 ventilators, 11 multi-parameter monitors with central nursing station, central piped oxygen and suction on every bed, 5 defibrillators and one portable X ray unit and one ABG analyser. High dependency unit is 20 beded and is equipped with central suction, piped oxygen, monitors and BIPAP and CPAP machines.

All medical wards are equipped with monitors, pulse oxymeters, CPAP, BIPAP, suction machines and ECG machines. Facility of bed side X Rays is available in all the wards.

Facilities available in Department:

Haemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, CAPD, TMT, Echocardiography, Carotid Doppler, Ambulatory BP Monitoring System, Holter Monitoring, UGI Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy, EEG, EMG, NCV, BERA, Pulmonary Function Tests and ambulatory glucose monitoring system. In addition all routine procedures are done on regular basis.

Geriatric OPD : Daily

  8. Upkeep and CMC of the equipments in the Deptt of Medicine

  9. Training and teaching of the DNB Medicine candidates

  10. Regular orientation and training of the Paramedics
